Olympic Pennisula

Olympic National Park and the surrounding coastal area is a huge area with very diverse terrain. During our trip, we found the most scenic locations to be in the coastal areas. We spent a night at Kalaloch Beach, two at Mora (near Rialto Beach), and our last two at Salt Creek on the north shore of the pennisula. Inland trips to Hurricane Ridge and the Hoh Rain Forest were photographically less productive.

The Salt Creek area was exceptionally beautiful, with mature and juvenile bald eagles, misty seastacks, and great sunset views. Here’s a shot over the Juan de Fuca Strait at sunset from our last night.
